Engineer & Social Tech Entrepreneur
Who We’re Looking for
An engineer who considers him/herself a technology entrepreneur, understands data, business, thinks conceptually and is able to facilitate hands-on implementations on a wide range of social data-related projects. Current challenges include: creating an environment to host client data and databases; connecting that data to other sources of data (census data, financial data, Google analytics data...); collaborating with our analytics and design team to facilitate statistical modeling, creating
dynamic online visualizations, recommendation engines and dashboards using this data; exploring the use of mobile applications and hardware devices for data collection/generation around causes; and leveraging SumAll.com technology to chart “social trends” in all available data.
In summary, we are looking for an all-round engineer with an intrinsic motivation to use his/her know-how to solve social problems with data and technology. The ideal candidate has a degree in Engineering or Computer Science; enjoys working with people and has industry- and/or entrepreneurial experience.
Required Skills, one or more of the following
Full-stack web development
Databases (SQL and NoSQL)
Visualization tools and frameworks (e.g. d3js, ...)
Good at listening and understanding client / partner requirements and translating them into project ideas
Active networker who enjoys attending and participating in meetups, with an intellectual curiosity for exploring new topics and strong verbal and communication skills capable of presenting his/her work in front of audiences with compelling delivery
